Philip was appointed CEO in 2019 and is responsible for overseeing Pharmazam in keeping with its vision of defining and directing the delivery of personal medication management to all its customers, managing all operation and business activity, as well as leading a group of diverse individuals to think beyond their limits. Philip has spent the last 35 years in the financial industry advising entrepreneurs and business owners both domestically and internationally in areas of investment, risk management, and broader institutional and personal wealth management services. His professional career encompasses leading regional efforts for some the world's most formidable financial firms including JP Morgan in New York, Bessemer Trust in Atlanta, to a principal partner in a start-up investment firm. Having grown up in Buenos Aires, Argentina, he has enjoyed the opportunity to work professionally with business leaders and institutions in South America and other countries around the world. Philip earned his BA in Finance and Business Management from North Carolina State University.
Philip has enjoyed multiple community leadership positions including Vice-Chair of the Impeesa Scout District, Trustee and Chair of Development and Governance Committees of both the Atlanta and NC Symphonies. He served on the Woodruff Arts Center Long Range Committee, was a founding member of the Cox Family Enterprise Center Advisory Board. He resides in Raleigh, NC with his wife and two sons.
TJ joined Pharmazam in 2016 and is responsible for day to day operations, executing on Pharmazams business strategy and ensuring operational excellence company-wide. He will be instrumental in bringing the company through its next phase of growth as it continues to redefine the medical management system space. He will focus on areas that include client facing operating groups and be responsible for client delivery, customer support, user experience, business development and acquisition integration.TJ has enjoyed a career of more than 30 years primarily focused on technology and the importance of how learning and development can foster a culture of positive performance within large enterprise organizations.
Prior to Pharmazam, he was the CLO of Alphanumeric Systems, a worldwide organization which provided customized learning outcomes to big pharma companies like GSK to meet organizational goals. Other positions include CEO and co-founder for start-up company Clear Care MD, which helped small business owners acquire an affordable healthcare solution, as well as VP of Business Development for Intelladon which created state of the art solutions for many large organizations including UPS. TJ also worked with Element K which provided enterprise-learning solutions for companies such as AAA, Jabil Circuit, Tech Data, Hard Rock Café, Darden Restaurants, and the PGA. TJ has volunteered as the Director of Special Events for the Special Olympics. He is also a veteran having served in the United States Air Force.
John joined Pharmazam in 2019 and brings more than two decades of experience working as a Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. With top secret security clearance from the United States government, John has overseen a variety of national and international criminal cases ranging from bank fraud, drug smuggling, organized crime, money laundering, bribery, espionage, public corruption amongst others.
John, who's considered an expert in forensic accounting and asset tracing, is also proficient in corporate, governmental and healthcare investigations where hes been a key witness, testifying in more than 100 federal trials. One investigation in particular involving the Memorial Healthcare System, John helped to uncover millions of dollars in fraud which led to indictments and convictions of numerous healthcare executives, vendors and their accomplices.
In addition to joining Pharmazam, John currently serves as a Senior Consultant for the Freeh Group which is spearheaded by former FBI Director Louis J. Freeh and as Managing Director for Osa Consulting Group, a risk management firm that specializes in business compliance, internal investigations, forensic accounting and mitigation for corporations and legal firms throughout the country and globe. Hes counseled notable and prestigious clients such as Parker-Migliorini International Foods, DFASS Group, Turnberry Associates, Andrews International, Inverinmobili, and Moodie International Limited, just to name a few.
John holds a degree in Business Administration from Loyola University, is the proud recipient of the Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award for the Southern District of Florida twice and currently serves as a member of the American Society for Industrial Security and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Bob joined Pharmazam in 2019 and is responsible for financial, risk management and administrative operations, as well as directing key initiatives tied to performance measurements to help facilitate the firms strategic direction and growth. His career began in 1963, working in a family owned business known as Understein and Associates (U&A). This company was a CPA and high-end financial and tax planning firm in the Greater Metro Washington D.C. area. In addition to his father, for 22 years his mentor and principal client was the CEO and Board Chairman (and 2nd largest shareholder) of GEICO. The firms clients were among the “Whos Who” of business and political Washington DC in the late 60s, 70s and 80s, including six members of the Senate, a Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, and CEOs-Senior executives of some of the leading companies in the U.S. (Washington Post, Amex, US Air, BoA-Mid Atlantic, others). In addition, U&A worked with just under 100 Medical Service Providers relating to their tax and financial planning. The practice was sold at the end of the 1980s and for the next almost 30 years, he worked with companies (both large and mid-sized) providing financial planning services as an interim CFO (including two years, CFO of a mid-sized public company), enabling them to manage and grow. Over the past ten years, he had been engaged with the CPA firms of RSM-McGladrey and Cohn Reznick. Bob earned his BS in Accounting from the University of Virginia and his JD in Law from Washington College of Law, American University.
Bob has had multiple philanthropic and board positions including University of Virginia-McIntire School of Commerce, National Osteoporosis Foundation, and George Washington University Heart & Vascular Institute.
Scott's focus as CIO for Pharmazam is to integrate Pharmazam's technology services with customer interface solutions. His role is to set objectives and strategies for the IT department while selecting and implementing suitable technology to streamline all internal operations and help optimize the strategic benefits. He has been in application development and software project management for 25+ years focusing on mobile app development and mobile website design for the past 8+ years. As a registered Apple Developer, he has designed and developed more than 300 iPhone/iPad/Android apps that currently are available in the Apple iTunes app store as well as the Android Marketplace. Scott graduated from Auburn University in 1993 with a degree in Management Information Systems and immediately went to work for the corporate IT department at the company headquarters for The Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta, GA. He then went on to work as the first consultant at a start-up computer consulting company Extreme Logic in Atlanta, GA in 1994.
While at Extreme Logic Scott worked on major software projects as a Senior Developer and/or Project Manager capacity at many Fortune 500 companies including The Coca-Cola Company, Pfizer, Merrill Lynch, Gold Kist, Deloitte & Touche, Georgia Medical Care Foundation, Total Solutions (TSYS) and UPS to name a few. After 11+ years at Extreme Logic, the company was bought by Hewlett-Packard in 2005.
Dr. Langaee joined Pharmazam in 2017. His comprehensive experience as a pharmacogenetics research scientist gives Pharmazam a distinct advantage over our competition. Much of his research focuses on pharmacogenomics, personalized medicine, and the development and application of clinical diagnostics genetic markers. Dr. Langaee is responsible for reviewing the genetic data that we collect to ensure its accuracy, translating genetic code tables, interpreting genotypes and phenotypes, building and maintaining dosing guidelines, and ensuring our lab partners' capabilities meet Pharmazam's rigorous testing standards and requirements. He believes Pharmazam will transform how physicians and their patients manage their medications and healthcvare for better outcomes.
Dr. Langaee earned his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Texas at Arlington then attended the Tehran University of Medical Sciences where he earned his Master of Science in Public Health and Microbiology. Later, he went on to earn his PhD in Medical Microbiology and Immunology from Laval University in Quebec, Canada. Currently, he is the Director of the University of Florida (UF) Center for Pharmacogenomics and Precision Medicine Genotyping Core Laboratory. He is also a Research Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research at the UF College of Pharmacy.
Since 2002, he has been involved in several large clinical trials, pharmacogenetics and genetic research projects where he teaches, mentors and supervises, undergraduate, PharmD , and graduate students as well as postdoctoral fellows and medical residents. He has published more than 130 scientific research papers in peer-reviewed journals and co-authored 3 book chapters in the area of pharmaco-genetics, personalized medicine, genetics, and microbiology. He has also worked closely with Scripps Pharmaceutical Institute to develop a new Beta-lactamase inhibitor to combat microbial resistance to Beta-lactam antibiotics.
Dr. Langaee is a member of the American Society of Human Genetics, American Society for the Advancement of Science and the American Society for Microbiology. Dr. Langaee's interests include traveling, salt water fishing, tennis, and long walk in nature. He also enjoys spending quality time with his five grandchildren.
Garrett joined Pharmazam in 2017 and is responsible for sales strategy implementation, defining new market opportunities and driving the company's sales efforts. His activities in coordination with other team members are focused on strategic sales plans and targets to meet the company's long-term objectives.
Garrett has an extensive background in Surgical and Durable Medical Equipment sales and distributor network management. He is recognized for his successful track record in commercialization and monetization of new products and services both domestically and internationally. Garrett built an expansive health service business in both the Operative and Therapeutic arenas of healthcare. He holds a B.S. from the University of Missouri where he played football for the University of Missouri Tigers and a B.S. from Columbia College.
Christopher was first introduced to Pharmazam in 2016 and recently joined Pharmazam in 2019 to help identify and implement key opportunities in business strategy and development. He is instrumental in driving revenue targets in each vital market and collaborating across the organization aiding in strategy formulation for all projects and initiatives.
He brings extensive experience with 20+ years with start-up medical and disruptive technology companies. He has developed, and managed strategic initiatives in the successful launch of numerous medical technologies and has recruited, trained, and led corporate sales teams, as well as large, national distribution networks. He has a B.A. degree from the University of Iowa.
Christopher lives with his wife and son in Laguna Niguel, CA. He is an avid surfer and volunteers his time with Life Rolls On, a charity which is dedicated to improving the quality of life of people living with various disabilities.
Kevin joined Pharmazam in 2017 and is responsible for sales strategy implementation, developing key market opportunities and driving the companys sales efforts. He will be focused on strategic sales initiatives and targets to meet the companys long-term objectives. He brings more than 20 years of sales, marketing, and business development experience in the medical technology industry. Much of that time was spent working with Medtronic, the world's largest medical device company, where he was directly responsible for developing, deploying, and managing numerous multi-million-dollar solutions. During his time at Medtronic, he served on numerous advisory councils and new technology committees where he was instrumental in new product development and improving organizational processes and efficiencies.
Additionally, he won every major sales performance award, as well as many peer-to-peer and customer satisfaction awards which exemplify his drive and determination for developing and executing winning sales strategies to achieve business growth and deliver an exceptional customer experience. His unique strategic and collaborative abilities to interact with individuals at every level of an organization enable him to understand and deliver effective solutions that help clients achieve their objectives. His true passion is delivering life-changing solutions that ultimately have a positive impact on other's quality of life. Kevin will leverage his sales knowledge, skills, abilities and passion to lead the sales organization and help build Phamazam into a global leader in the field of pharmacogenetics testing and personalized medicine. He attended Louisburg College and N.C. State University where his studies included business administration and marketing and served as a member in the Air Force ROTC program.
Kevin currently resides in Apex, NC with his wife. They are both avid stand-up paddle boarders who enjoy visiting the Hawaiian Islands.
Marilyn will work with Pharmazam to help with its execution and sales strategy predominately in the Northeast Region. She is the President of Heartscan Services Inc. which she founded in 2009. Her company is registered in New York City and New York State as a minority and woman owned enterprise. Her experience consists of 25 years in the medical field specializing in new technologies in the cardiology arena and has spent the last 10 years in developing preventive screening and wellness programs for organizations and unions. In 2017 she began working with pharmacogenetics to assist organizations to have personalized medical management for their employees.
Marilyn sits on the committee and her company provides the screening for the Women's Heart to Heart in Brooklyn, an initiative of the Maimonides Heart and Vascular Center, which educates women on the facts and risks of heart disease, stroke, and thyroid cancer. In 2015 Marilyn also founded HSS Screening and Early Detection Inc., a 501c3 for 9-11 related thyroid cancer victims, including 9/11 first responders.
She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Salamanca located in Salamanca, Spain and her MBA from Pace University in NYC. Marilyn is married with four wonderful sons and enjoys traveling and working out.
Helen is a senior executive with more than 20 years of business development experience across Europe and North America. Formerly the European Director of strategic growth for Amazon.com and more recently as a senior partner for Forbury People in the UK and Chief Operating Officer for Y&A LLC in the US.
Helen has helped organizations achieve successful business outcomes through consulting, coaching, training along with practices targeted at organizational development, leadership development, sales growth and business development. She has assisted a broad range of companies grow through highly effective leadership development programs and she is a qualified executive coach and mediator. Helen has consulted with senior executives in organizations across a diverse range of industries, she is also a regular conference speaker, communications writer and Speech writer.
Helen has always enjoyed the opportunity to help people perform at their professional best and being on the Pharmazam team has given her the chance to extend that passion into physical health too. With a life long interest in preventative health and nutrition, Helen is passionate about the opportunity Pharmazam provides to individuals wanting to make informed decisions about their health options and to ultimately take control of their own health care.
Jessica joined Pharmazam in 2018 and is responsible for shaping, defining and communicating the company's vision through press releases, social media as well as other forms of traditional media platforms. Jessica brings more than a decade of broadcast journalism experience to Pharmazam. She has filled a variety of roles from news anchor, sideline reporter to executive producer for national and local media networks including, but not limited to NBC, FOX, and CBS Sports. Jessica's tenure in the TV business gave her a leg up when it came to the ins and outs of Public Relations.
Soon after leaving network television, she teamed up with a selected few well-known sports agents and their clients across the country. It was during that transition her PR career truly took off. Jessica found herself overseeing everything from their celebrity clients' press releases, public appearances, and philanthropic speeches to helping launch effective social media campaigns and implementing top-notch crisis communications strategies when necessary. She is a graduate of the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!) with a BA in Mass Communication and a double minor in PR and English Writing.
She is a proud Florida native, and in her spare time, Jessica thoroughly enjoys giving back to several charities across the greater Tampa Bay Area.
Kyle joined Pharmazam in 2016 and is responsible for delivering a data-driven, results-oriented digital communication strategy which will leverage direct-to-consumer sales and marketing. Kyle's healthcare and technology career spans 25+ years of integrating marketing, business development, and operations. Prior to Pharmazam, he was the founder of Thriving Interactive, a digital media agency working with clients in digital publishing, social media storytelling, and e-mail marketing. He also served as Chief Operations Officer with Tomahawk Medical implementing consumer marketing, sales recruiting and technology integration as well as with the Florida Hospital Association representing member hospitals on quality care initiatives. Kyle earned his BA in Business Management from Appalachian State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Central Florida.
Kyle is active on several philanthropic leadership boards assisting in fundraising, awareness campaigns, and charity drives. He has served as Chair of Leadership Winter Park and on the Board of Trustees with the Winter Park YMCA. Kyle resides in Orlando with his wife and two children.
Dr. Hirschauer joined Pharmazam in 2016 and is one of our main prescribing physicians and oversees and assists all other Pharmazam Physicians. For the last 12 years, Dr. Hirschauer has specialized in overseeing advanced specialized testing for patients with weight and hormone issues, reviewing more than 60,000 patient test results. He has transitioned his focus to encompass more advanced testing options that specialize in the pharmacogenetics field making its benefits easily accessible to individuals around the world. Since 1995, as Director of the Pain Management at The Bonati Institute, Dr. Hirschauer has worked closely with Dr. Bonati to determine pain-alleviating methods and treatments for patients.
A native of Des Moines, Iowa, Dr. Hirschauer received his Bachelor of Science degree from South Dakota State University and his medical degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines. Dr. Hirschauer completed his residency in anesthesiology at the world-renowned University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital program. Dr. Hirschauer is a diplomate on the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners and the American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology. He has board certifications in anesthesiology and pain management. He is also a member of several state and national professional and honor societies, and is a medical advisor to several health care corporate boards. As a Commander in the United States Navy Medical Corps, Dr. Hirschauer continues to serve his country proudly.
Suzanne was appointed the Director of Medical Operations in 2017. She is responsible for maintaining and updating Pharmazam's master PGx pharmaceutical lists; obtaining pharmaceutical formularies; hiring and overseeing order entry, customer support, all physician support program staff, onboarding of laboratory partnerships, manages the process of all test kits from orders to results, and she is also our acting financial controller. Additionally, Suzanne initiates and manages all clinical research projects and organizes communication and completion of all development projects. For more than 12 years, she has successfully owned and operated a small business in Florida and joins our team with a wide-range of professional experience and abilities.
She achieved degrees in Public Accounting, Registered Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and Liberal Arts, graduating with honors in all degrees. As a nurse generalist in public health, she is a change agent in support of improving safer and higher quality health care outcomes for individuals.
Suzanne volunteered for 8 years with the West Central Florida Girl Scouts where she taught girls to be independent and strong. She is an avid equestrian and was a citizen volunteer with the Pinellas Park Police Department patrolling neighborhoods and local events on her horse for 3 years. Suzanne is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, the international nursing honor society.
Dr. McLeod began in an advisory role with Pharmazam in 2018. Since then, he has been responsible for guiding the company's scientific vision. His extensive education, knowledge, and experience in the field of pharmacogenomics have been paramount in the development of the Pharmazam Personal Medication Management System.
As internationally recognized expert in precision medicine, Dr. Howard McLeod is currently the Medical Director of the DeBartolo Family Personalized Medicine Institute at the Moffitt Cancer Center. He also serves as chair of the Department of Individualized Cancer Management and a State of Florida Endowed Chair in Cancer Research. Formerly, he was the Fred Eshelman Distinguished Professor of Pharmacogenomics and Individualized Therapy at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and the director of the UNC Institute for Pharmacogenomics and Individualized Therapy. Additionally, Dr. McLeod is a 1000 talent scholar of China and a Professor at Central South University in Changsha, China. He is chair of the NHGRI eMERGE network external scientific panel and a recent member of the FDA committee on Clinical Pharmacology and the NIH Human Genome Advisory Council. Since 2002, Dr. McLeod has been vice chair for Pharmacogenomics for the major NCI clinical trials group, overseeing the largest oncology pharmacogenomics portfolio in the world. All of this while being an active entrepreneur, serving on the Board of Directors, Scientific Advisory Board, and as a domain expert consultant to publicly traded and privately held companies. He has also founded for-profit and non-profit companies in the USA and China. Dr. McLeod has published more than 550 peer reviewed papers on precision medicine and continues to work in the advancement of individualized medicine.
Nellie joined Pharmazam in 2017. She is responsible for researching drug-to-drug interactions and specific dosing guidelines for medications that currently have associated pharmacogenetics data. This allows her to recommend appropriate dosage adjustments and alternative therapy options to potentially prevent adverse drug reactions. Moving forward, she will be responsible for providing tier three, one-to-one patient phone counseling sessions to further ensure optimal clinical outcomes for all medication therapies.
She provides a highly credible backbone to our core business by ensuring patients' needs are properly paired with the right pharmaceutical. Her extensive clinical and practical pharmacy experience brings a wealth of knowledge about the pharmaceutical industry, as well as innovative medications and therapies that are revolutionizing healthcare.
Dr. Mingrone joined Pharmazam in 2018. Dr. Mingrone is responsible for writing prescriptions and supporting patients in the state of California Dr. Mingrone is a medical director for the State of California and the lead physician for Eos Sleep Center in California. He is the former President and Medical Director of Sereno, The Center for Snoring Solutions in San Francisco. Dr. Mingrone is a board-certified otolaryngologist, who specializes in sinus disease, snoring, and sleep apnea issues. Dr. Mingrone graduated with honors from Loyola Marymount University and Georgetown University School of Medicine.
He has more than 15 years of experience and is highly trained in medically proven, minimally invasive treatments for sinus disease, snoring, and sleep apnea. Additionally, he has appeared in numerous national publications and on television as an expert on ear, nose, and throat issues, and has helped thousands of patients resolve snoring and sleep problems. Dr. Mingrone is also fellowship trained in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. He has authored several textbook chapters on facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and is an active member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery.
Patrick Byrne, DO earned his degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida in 2002 which led him to a successful 8 year career in construction management. That experience proved valuable for Dr. Byrne, it is where he sharpened his core business values, efficiency, and leadership skills. Eventually Dr. Byrne could no longer ignore his will and determination to learn and invest in the sciences and contribute to improving patient care in his community. In 2010 Dr. Byrne went back to school and earned his Doctorate of Osteopathy from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine which is where he discovered his penchant for pharmacology. Dr. Byrne trained in Family Medicine under Drexel's program at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia where he contributed to several research initiatives aimed at improving the quality of patient care.
He has spent a number of years in primary care and is intimately aware of the struggle many primary care physicians face when formulating an appropriate pharmaceutical regimen for their patients. Dr. Byrne is dedicated to mitigating the "trial and error" process when selecting medicine, as well as reducing adverse effects and drug interactions in order to improve patient safety. When Patrick is not working he enjoys being an outdoor enthusiast, especially hiking and biking with his seven year old Siberian Husky, Jasper. Dr. Byrne is a member of the American Osteopathic Association.
