Dr. McLeod began in an advisory role with Pharmazam in 2018. Recently, he has taken on responsibilities for guiding the company's medical and scientific vision. His extensive education, knowledge, and experience in the field of pharmacogenomics have been paramount in the development of the Pharmazam Personal Medication Management System.
Dr. McLeod is an internationally recognized expert in pharmacogenetics and personalized medicine. He was recently ranked by Expertscape as #1 in the US and #2 worldwide.
Dr McLeod has made significant contributions at the discovery, translation, implementation, and policy level. Dr. Howard McLeod serves roles in both the academic and corporate worlds. He is the Medical Director for Precision Medicine at the Geriatric Oncology Consortium and a Professor at the University of South Florida Taneja College of Pharmacy. Dr McLeod chaired the NHGRI eMERGE network external scientific panel for the past decade and was a recent member of both the FDA committee on Clinical Pharmacology and the NIH Human Genome Institute Advisory Council. Since 2002, Dr McLeod has been vice chair for Pharmacogenomics for the major NCI clinical trials group, overseeing the largest oncology pharmacogenomics portfolio in the world. He is an active entrepreneur, serving on the Board of Directors, Scientific Advisory Board, and as a domain expert consultant to publicly traded and privately held companies. He has also founded for-profit and non-profit companies, including Interpares Biomedicine and Clariifi. Dr McLeod is a Fellow of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. Howard has published over 575 peer reviewed papers on pharmacogenomics, applied therapeutics, or clinical pharmacology and continues to work to advance individualized medicine.
Dr. Langaee joined Pharmazam in 2017. His comprehensive experience as a pharmacogenetics research scientist gives Pharmazam a distinct advantage over our competition. Much of his research focuses on pharmacogenomics, personalized medicine, and the development and application of clinical diagnostics genetic markers. Dr. Langaee is responsible for reviewing the genetic data that we collect to ensure its accuracy, translating genetic code tables, interpreting genotypes and phenotypes, building and maintaining dosing guidelines, and ensuring our lab partners' capabilities meet Pharmazam's rigorous testing standards and requirements. He believes Pharmazam will transform how physicians and their patients manage their medications and healthcare for better outcomes.
Dr. Langaee earned his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Texas at Arlington then attended the Tehran University of Medical Sciences where he earned his Master of Science in Public Health and Microbiology. Later, he went on to earn his PhD in Medical Microbiology and Immunology from Laval University in Quebec, Canada. Currently, he is the Director of the University of Florida (UF) Center for Pharmacogenomics and Precision Medicine Genotyping Core Laboratory. He is also a Research Professor in the Department of Pharmacotherapy and Translational Research at the UF College of Pharmacy. Since 2002, he has been involved in several large clinical trials, pharmacogenetics and genetic research projects where he teaches, mentors and supervises, undergraduate, PharmD , and graduate students as well as postdoctoral fellows and medical residents. He has published more than 130 scientific research papers in peer-reviewed journals and co-authored 3 book chapters in the area of pharmaco-genetics, personalized medicine, genetics, and microbiology. He has also worked closely with Scripps Pharmaceutical Institute to develop a new Beta-lactamase inhibitor to combat microbial resistance to Beta-lactam antibiotics.
Dr. Langaee is a member of the American Society of Human Genetics, American Society for the Advancement of Science, and the American Society for Microbiology. Dr. Langaee’s interests include traveling, saltwater fishing, tennis, and long walks in nature. He also enjoys spending quality time with his five grandchildren.
Dr. Hirschauer joined Pharmazam in 2016 and is one of our main prescribing physicians and oversees and assists all other Pharmazam Physicians. For the last 12 years, Dr. Hirschauer has specialized in overseeing advanced specialized testing for patients with weight and hormone issues, reviewing more than 60,000 patient test results. He has transitioned his focus to encompass more advanced testing options that specialize in the pharmacogenetics field making its benefits easily accessible to individuals around the world. Since 1995, as Director of the Pain Management at The Bonati Institute, Dr. Hirschauer has worked closely with Dr. Bonati to determine pain-alleviating methods and treatments for patients.
A native of Des Moines, Iowa, Dr. Hirschauer received his Bachelor of Science degree from South Dakota State University and his medical degree from the University of Osteopathic Medicine and Health Sciences in Des Moines. Dr. Hirschauer completed his residency in anesthesiology at the world-renowned University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital program. Dr. Hirschauer is a diplomate on the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners and the American Osteopathic Board of Anesthesiology. He has board certifications in anesthesiology and pain management. He is also a member of several state and national professional and honor societies and is a medical advisor to several health care corporate boards. As a Commander in the United States Navy Medical Corps, Dr. Hirschauer continues to serve his country proudly.
TJ joined Pharmazam in 2016 and is responsible for day to day operations, executing on Pharmazam’s business strategy and ensuring operational excellence company-wide. He will be instrumental in bringing the company through its next phase of growth as it continues to redefine the medical management system space. He will focus on areas that include client facing operating groups and be responsible for client delivery, customer support, user experience, business development and acquisition integration.TJ has enjoyed a career of more than 30 years primarily focused on technology and the importance of how learning and development can foster a culture of positive performance within large enterprise organizations. Prior to Pharmazam, he was the CLO of Alphanumeric Systems, a worldwide organization which provided customized learning outcomes to big pharma companies (GSK) to meet organizational goals. Other positions include CEO and co-founder for start-up company Clear Care MD, which helped small business owners acquire an affordable healthcare solution, as well as VP of Business Development for Intelladon which created state of the art solutions for many large organizations including UPS. TJ also worked with Element K which provided enterprise-learning solutions for companies such as AAA, Jabil Circuit, Tech Data, Hard Rock Café, Darden Restaurants, and the PGA. TJ has volunteered as the Director of Special Events for the Special Olympics. He is also a veteran having served in the United States Air Force.
Garrett joined Pharmazam in 2017 and is responsible for sales strategy implementation, defining new market opportunities and driving the company's sales efforts. His activities in coordination with other team members are focused on strategic sales plans and targets to meet the company's long-term objectives. Garrett has an extensive background in Surgical and Durable Medical Equipment sales and distributor network management. He is recognized for his successful track record in commercialization and monetization of new products and services both domestically and internationally. Garrett built an expansive health service business in both the Operative and Therapeutic arenas of healthcare. He holds a B.S. from the University of Missouri where he played football for the University of Missouri Tigers and a B.S. from Columbia College.
John joined Pharmazam in 2019 and brings more than two decades of experience working as a Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. With top secret security clearance from the United States government, John has overseen a variety of national and international criminal cases ranging from bank fraud, drug smuggling, organized crime, money laundering, bribery, espionage, public corruption amongst others.
John, who is considered an expert in forensic accounting and asset tracing, is also proficient in corporate, governmental and healthcare investigations where he’s been a key witness, testifying in more than 100 federal trials. One investigation involving the Memorial Healthcare System, John helped to uncover millions of dollars in fraud which led to indictments and convictions of numerous healthcare executives, vendors, and their accomplices.
In addition to joining Pharmazam, John currently serves as a Senior Consultant for the Freeh Group which is spearheaded by former FBI Director Louis J. Freeh and as Managing Director for Osa Consulting Group, a risk management firm that specializes in business compliance, internal investigations, forensic accounting and mitigation for corporations and legal firms throughout the country and globe. He’s counseled notable and prestigious clients such as Parker-Migliorini International Foods, DFASS Group, Turnberry Associates, Andrews International, Intermobility, and Moodie International Limited, just to name a few. John holds a degree in Business Administration from Loyola University, is the proud recipient of the Law Enforcement Officer of the Year Award for the Southern District of Florida twice and currently serves as a member of the American Society for Industrial Security and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Scott's focus as CIO for Pharmazam is to integrate Pharmazam's technology services with customer interface solutions. His role is to set objectives and strategies for the IT department while selecting and implementing suitable technology to streamline all internal operations and help optimize the strategic benefits. He has been in application development and software project management for 25+ years focusing on mobile app development and mobile website design for the past 8+ years. As a registered Apple Developer, he has designed and developed more than 300 iPhone/iPad/Android apps that currently are available in the Apple iTunes app store as well as the Android Marketplace. Scott graduated from Auburn University in 1993 with a degree in Management Information Systems and immediately went to work for the corporate IT department at the company headquarters for The Coca-Cola Company in Atlanta, GA. He then went on to work as the first consultant at a start-up computer consulting company Extreme Logic in Atlanta, GA in 1994.
While at Extreme Logic Scott worked on major software projects as a Senior Developer and/or Project Manager capacity at many Fortune 500 companies including The Coca-Cola Company, Pfizer, Merrill Lynch, Gold Kist, Deloitte & Touche, Georgia Medical Care Foundation, Total Solutions (TSYS) and UPS to name a few. After 11+ years at Extreme Logic, the company was bought by Hewlett-Packard in 2005.
Mr. Burke joined Pharmazam in January of 2021. He has accepted responsibility for guiding the company’s technology strategy. His extensive expertise in biocomputing, IT architecture, data security, contract negotiations and Software as a Service will be valuable to Pharmazam. For the last eight years Mr. Burke has also been involved in the executive management of a small medical practice owned and operated by his family.
Prior to joining Pharmazam Mark was the CIO at Accelerated Technology Laboratories (ATL) from 2014 - 2018. While at ATL he focused on guiding the business into new technological areas creating ATL’s Software as a Service business. During the 4 ½ years he was with ATL he helped double the size of the company. Three years after its inception the software as a service business accounted for more than 90% of ATLs sales.
Mark has had a long and extensive career at the crux of biology and computational technology. He was the Sr. Director of Information Resources and Bioinformatics at the David H. Murdock Research Institute, where he worked from 2008 until 2014. When he joined the DHMRI he was part of the small team that designed and coordinated the launch of the facility. He worked closely with the CIO to build the core bioinformatics research and datacenter teams. He was the key architect of DHMRI’s datacenter, which had been designed to uniquely empower life science research. In addition to his role at the DHMRI Mr. Burke was a member of the Bioinformatics Research Center at North Carolina State University (NCSU) from 2009 - 2013.
Mark also spent seven years as a member of the Department of Plant Pathology at NCSU working as the Bioinformatics Manager for the Center for the Biology of Nematode Parasitism (CBNP). He built a bioinformatics team of 18 people and designed the computational infrastructure to support the Tobacco Genome Initiative (TGI). The CBNP leveraged the computational infrastructure, designed by Mr. Burke to secure funding to sequence, assemble and annotate the genome of the plant parasitic nematode Meloidogyne hapla. He was key in leading the bioinformatics initiative and has a number of scientific, peer reviewed publications in this area.
Helen is a senior executive with more than 20 years of business development experience across Europe and North America. Formerly the European Director of strategic growth for Amazon.com and more recently as a senior partner for Forbury People in the UK and Chief Operating Officer for Y&A LLC in the US.Helen has helped organizations achieve successful business outcomes through consulting, coaching and training along with practices targeted at organizational development, leadership development, sales growth and business development. She has assisted a broad range of companies grow through highly effective leadership development programs and has consulted with senior executives in organizations across a diverse range of industries. Helen is passionate about the opportunity Pharmazam provides to individuals wanting to make informed decisions about their health options and to ultimately take control of their own health care.
Suzanne was appointed the Director of Medical Operations in 2017. She is responsible for maintaining and updating Pharmazam's master PGx pharmaceutical lists; obtaining pharmaceutical formularies; hiring and overseeing order entry, customer support, all physician support program staff, onboarding of laboratory partnerships, manages the process of all test kits from orders to results, and she is also our acting financial controller. Additionally, Suzanne initiates and manages all clinical research projects and organizes communication and completion of all development projects. For more than 12 years, she has successfully owned and operated a small business in Florida and joins our team with a wide range of professional experience and abilities.
She achieved degrees in Public Accounting, Registered Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and Liberal Arts, graduating with honors in all degrees. As a nurse generalist in public health, she is a change agent in support of improving safer and higher quality health care outcomes for individuals.
Suzanne volunteered for 8 years with the West Central Florida Girl Scouts where she taught girls to be independent and strong. She is an avid equestrian and was a citizen volunteer with the Pinellas Park Police Department patrolling neighborhoods and local events on her horse for 3 years. Suzanne is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International, the international nursing honor society.
Christopher first started as a consultant for Pharmazam in 2016 and then joined the Pharmazam team full-time in 2019 to help identify and implement critical business strategy and development opportunities. He is instrumental in driving revenue targets in each vital market and collaborating across the organization aiding in strategy formulation for all projects and initiatives.
He brings extensive experience with 25+ years with start-up medical and disruptive technology companies. He has developed, and managed strategic initiatives in the successful launch of numerous medical technologies and has recruited, trained, and led corporate sales teams and large, national distribution networks. He has a B.A. degree from the University of Iowa. Christopher lives with his wife and son in Orange County, CA. He is an avid surfer and volunteers his time with Life Rolls On, a charity dedicated to improving the quality of life of people living with various disabilities.
Nellie joined Pharmazam in 2017. She is responsible for researching drug-to-drug interactions and specific dosing guidelines for medications that currently have associated pharmacogenetics data. This allows her to recommend appropriate dosage adjustments and alternative therapy options to potentially prevent adverse drug reactions. Moving forward, she will be responsible for providing tier three, one-to-one patient phone counseling sessions to further ensure optimal clinical outcomes for all medication therapies.
She provides a highly credible backbone to our core business by ensuring patients' needs are properly paired with the right pharmaceutical. Her extensive clinical and practical pharmacy experience brings a wealth of knowledge about the pharmaceutical industry, as well as innovative medications and therapies that are revolutionizing healthcare.
Doug joined Pharmazam in 2019 and is responsible for managing the channel medical sales team, defining new market opportunities, training, and driving the company's sales efforts. His activities in coordination with other team members are focused on strategic sales plans and targets to meet the company's long-term objectives.Doug has an extensive background in Medical Equipment, Pharmaceutical and DNA sales. He has a 20-year successful track record in the medical field both in sales management and working in operation capacities for Fortune 500 companies and startups. Doug holds a BSEE from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston.
Jessica joined Pharmazam in 2018 and is responsible for shaping, defining and communicating the company's vision through press releases, social media as well as other forms of traditional media platforms. Jessica brings more than a decade of broadcast journalism experience to Pharmazam. She has filled a variety of roles from news anchor, sideline reporter to executive producer for national and local media networks including, but not limited to NBC, FOX, and CBS Sports. Jessica's tenure in the TV business gave her a leg up when it came to the ins and outs of Public Relations. Soon after leaving network television, she teamed up with a selected few well-known sports agents and their clients across the country. It was during that transition her PR career truly took off. Jessica found herself overseeing everything from their celebrity clients' press releases, public appearances, and philanthropic speeches to helping launch effective social media campaigns and implementing top-notch crisis communications strategies when necessary. She is a graduate of the University of Central Florida (Go Knights!) with a BA in Mass Communication and a double minor in PR and English Writing
